Adam and I quite often reflect on our magnificent homebirth. And I like to do this, because as time goes on, it's becoming less of a clear memory, more of an experience.

I still laugh at one thing from my labour, early on in the piece, as contractions were amping up - I wasn't able to comfortably sit or stand, so my compromise was to squat walk around my dining room (where we had the pool set up)

While i was doing it, all I could think about was a dog walking while it was pooing - so this is my dog poo walk.

My labour was rather poo-centric. Olly, I described as my best poo ever. I did the dogpoo walk... was scared to poo in the pool... It's all about excrement for me :)

With DD1(#1) I had to laugh at my midwife who didnt believe I was even close to delivering. My mum told her I was pushing. She casually sat down to 'observe' and all of a sudden flew off her chair and started running around like mad trying to get things prepared because Shelby's head was crowning.

Then with my DS1(#3) I was on the chair in the shower and hubby was crouching next to me with the shower curtain draping over his back. He had forgotten to bring a spare change of clothes so had stripped off. My mum was standing by the door when my midwife poked her head around and bent down to 'observe'. When mum asked her what she was doing she said "I can see all I need to see"(she thought that it was my butt she could see...but it was actually my husbands butt) Mum told her that and they both laughed SO hard they could barely breath. That became a very well known story in the hospital!!

When I was in labour with DS2(#5)I remember all of my 4 kids perched on the side of the birth pool with such love in their eyes and rubbing my legs...and having my DS1 asking questions about things he could have asked within the 9months before the birth lol.
Also hearing everyones whoops of excitement and seeing the excitement in their faces when the baby was born.

Ahahahahah about the Butt story :) I'd be a bit offended that your midwife thought you had a big hairy bum :-P

Lol my hubby doesnt have a big hairy butt though thankfully)
My mum thought she might have been able to see his balls and thought that it was the baby's head crowning lol. My hubby was quite embarrassed. The same midwife ended up being our midwife when I delivered Cooper too and there were alot of comments about making sure he kept his pants on this time haha.
